I lift up my eyes to the mountains – from where will my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2
Mountaintop removal coal mining blows ancient mountains to bits, fills and chokes valley streams, and imposes health and economic burdens to local communities. The faith community stands strong on this issue: mountaintop removal mining must end.
The National Council of Churches invites you to a conference call/webinar with a chaplain, a scientist, and a faith activist who will give you the details on why the faith community cares about this issue, how God’s land and people are suffering, and what you can do to stop mountaintop removal mining.
Save the Date: Friday, October 28, 2011 at 2:00pm Eastern Time/11:00am Pacific Time. Click here to register for the webinar.
Speakers include:
Rev. Greg Griffey, Hospital Chaplain in Charlottesville, VA
