Renewed by God’s Grace

In his Christmas post, Jordan talked about the hope of Christmas and encouraged us to keep Christmas in our hearts all year long.  For many of us, myself included, the hope of Christmas wavers as soon as we turn on the news.  Messages of peace on earth and good will toward all have been quickly overshadowed by news of war, and economic and environmental fears continue to weigh on our hearts and minds. Despite all this, the hope of Christmas can continue to live within us as we remember the promise of God’s Grace.  The bible tells us that God will “renew the face of the ground” (Psalm 104:30) and “Make all things new” (Revelation 21:5).

This new year, resolve to remember the grace of God and allow it to strengthen and renew your commitment to living out God’s will.  “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may discern the will of God” (Romans 12:2). Let God’s new creation begin within your lives.  Seek out ways that you can bring God’s peace and renewal to all of God’s people and God’s Creation.   Check out the take action section of our website and consider hosting a candlelight vigil for climate action at your church.Have hope and trust in God’s grace, knowing that “God will renew you in God’s love” (Zephaniah 3: 17).

Happy New Year!
